Heroes of Might and Magic V is the fifth installment of the legendary turn-based strategy series, developed by Nival Interactive and published by Ubisoft. It was a landmark project, being the first in the series to transition into full 3D.
I joined the project during its active development phase, initially contributing as a Tools Programmer, where I developed map editors and essential utilities for game designers. My role evolved as the project grew, leading me to become a Team Lead and eventually the Release Manager for the entire cycle.
My Contributions:
- Lead Developer: Managed the engineering and QA teams during the critical final stages of development.
- Build Engineering: Standardized and automated the build process, ensuring consistent quality across multiple localized versions.
- Release Management: Coordinated with Ubisoft to manage milestones, quality standards, and final delivery for the original game and both major expansions.
- Technical Localization: Managed the technical complexity of localizing a content-heavy AAA game into dozens of languages.
Working on the original game and its expansions, 'Hammers of Fate' and 'Tribes of the East', remains a career highlight, representing a successful revival of a beloved franchise.
